Sara Singh chosen to be the NDP candidate in Brampton Centre

BRAMPTON — New Democrats in Brampton Centre have nominated Sara Singh as their Ontario NDP candidate for the 2022 provincial election. Before her election in 2018, Singh founded Broadening Horizons and served as a Board Director at Community Living Ontario and former vice-president of Brampton Caledon Community Living. Singh is currently the Official Opposition Deputy Leader and critic for Seniors, Home Care and Long-Term Care, and also recently earned her PhD in Public Policy.

Quotes

NDP Leader Andrea Horwath
“Sara Singh loves Brampton, and is a passionate advocate for what Bramptonians deserve — including long overdue investments in new hospitals and schools that successive Liberal and Conservative governments ignored notwithstanding Brampton’s rapid growth. New Democrats recognized the inequities Bramptonians were facing long before the pandemic put a spotlight on them. But there’s hope. In 2022, an NDP government will finally invest in health care that keeps up with Brampton’s growing needs. We’ll stand up to insurance companies and stop postal-code discrimination and insurance price gouging. And we’ll make it easier for the next generation to live, work and raise their own families right here in Brampton.”

Sara Singh, NDP candidate for Brampton Centre
“Having grown up in Brampton, I know first-hand the impact that Liberal and Conservative cuts have had here. That’s why I’m determined to keep fighting for our community’s fair share. We don’t have to settle for empty election promises while our hospital bursts at the seams, putting our families at risk. Supporting Andrea Horwath’s New Democrats is supporting shovels in the ground on the Peel Memorial expansion, plus a new hospital. Supporting the NDP is supporting local, small businesses. Supporting the NDP is supporting more opportunities for our children, instead of the deep cuts and bad choices we’ve seen from the Liberals and Conservatives.”
